Event Overview:

A site tour of the City of Winnipeg's North Transit Garage Replacement project, currently under construction at the intersection of Selkirk Avenue and Oak Point Highway, is scheduled to start at 4:30pm.  Attendees will be broken up into groups of 15 with a guide familiar with the project, and will be taken around the site to review the construction in progress and have an opportunity to ask questions.

Following the tour, individuals to make their way to the Torque Brewing @ 330-830 King Edward Street.  The ACI MB Chapter will hold our AGM and a short presentation on the garage project will be presented.

Following the presentations at about 6:30pm, there will be food and a cash bar available.  First Drink is on ACI.

Project Description:

The North Garage Replacement project includes the construction and commissioning of a nearly 24,000m2 Transit bus garage. It includes a service area for inspection, cleaning, and washing of incoming buses, three storage compartments for up to 171 40ft buses, maintenance and repair area including management offices and a parts warehouse, and an admin area for management and dispatcher offices, training and conference room, and amenity facilities. The project will also involve site remediation of a property that was previously the location of two gas stations and a landfill, as well as construction of auxiliary lanes on Oak Point Highway, reconstruction of Hyde Avenue, and a parking lot for 162 vehicles.
